What is nothingness? What is freedom? What is jewellery? How complex is simplicity? How simple is complexity?
This project explores the essential principles and elements of jewellery. The research on the impact of nothingness on us and on design shows that for most people our world has become too loud, too fast and too confusing. As an antipole simplicity, emptiness and silence become desirable.
Jewellery that does not mean or pretend anything plays with the limits of visibility and wearability. How little form and material does jewellery need to be just jewellery? How long does it have to exist in its form to be jewellery at all, so how temporary can and must jewellery be?

Was ist Nichts? Was ist Freiheit? Was ist Schmuck? Wie komplex ist Einfachheit? Wie einfach ist Komplexität?
Dieses Projekt ist eine Einladung dazu, sich mit den Grundsätzen und -elementen des Schmucks auseinanderzusetzen. Aus der Recherche über die Auswirkung von Nichts auf den Menschen und auf die Gestaltung ergibt sich die Beobachtung, dass den meisten Menschen unsere Welt inzwischen zu laut, zu schnell und zu unübersichtlich geworden ist. Als Gegenpol dazu wird das Einfache, die Leere und die Ruhe wieder begehrenswert. Schmuck, der nichts bedeuten und nichts vorgeben möchte, spielt mit den Grenzen der Sichtbarkeit und der Tragbarkeit. So stellt sich die Frage, wie wenig Form und Material Schmuck braucht, um gerade noch Schmuck zu sein? Wie lange muss er in seiner Form existieren, um überhaupt Schmuck zu sein, also wie temporär kann und muss Schmuck sein?
